Horsham Municipal Active Recreation & Community Sport Strategy
Help shape the future of sport and active recreation in Horsham.
About the Strategy
Horsham Rural City Council is creating a 10-year plan to improve sport and active recreation across our community. This plan is called the Horsham Municipal Active Recreation & Community Sport Strategy.
We’re working with Inside Edge Sport & Leisure Planning and Sport & Recreation Victoria to make sure the Strategy is strong, fair, and useful for everyone.
What the Strategy Will Do
The Strategy will:
Create a shared vision for active recreation and sport that is inclusive and sustainable.
Focus on improving current facilities and increasing use instead of building new ones.
Support flexible spaces that can be shared by different groups.
Build partnerships with local clubs, schools, health services and others.
Track how well we’re doing using data and community feedback.
Link with other important plans, like the Council Plan, Community Facilities Strategy and the Victorina Health and Wellbeing Plan.
Why Your Feedback Matters
Targeted workshops with clubs, associations and service providers have already taken place. We now need broader community input to make sure the Strategy reflects local priorities, barriers and opportunities. Your ideas will help shape the final plan and how we put it into action.
How to provide feedback
During our four-week engagement period you can:
Complete the online survey below Share your needs, ideas and priorities for sport and recreation in Horsham.
Map your ideas Use our interactive map to pin the places you love—or the places that need attention.
Drop-in sessions Speak with the project team face-to-face.
Time and location TBC
Make a written submission Email council@hrcc.vic.gov.au or post to Horsham Rural City Council, PO Box 511, Horsham VIC 3402.
All feedback received by 5:00 pm AEST on Friday 11 July 2025 will be reviewed and considered in the next project phase.
