Horsham and Natimuk Diverse and Affordable Housing Strategy

A Draft Housing Strategy for the whole of Horsham – seeking your feedback

Horsham Rural City Council has prepared a Draft Housing Strategy to guide how much housing is required and where it will be provided across the municipality to 2041.

The Draft Strategy responds to changing community needs and supports and advocates for more diverse and affordable housing options. It will help to ensure development is well-planned, well located and supported by infrastructure.

At its heart, the strategy recognises that good quality housing is more than just shelter - it’s a home and the foundation for health, wellbeing, stability, and opportunity for every member of our community.

Our Strategy includes actions for things we can control (land supply and approvals) and advocacy priorities for things that require support and action from State and Federal Governments to improve housing construction, diversity and choice.

Have we got the approach right?

We are now seeking your feedback to help refine the strategy and ensure it reflects local priorities.

Your input is important and every piece of information you can provide will help shape the final strategy and future planning decisions.
